So Much Korean Food | Deep Cleaning

Thursday, December 25th

Merry Christmas!

Unfortunately it feels like another day to me, but I will celebrate later in the week when I see my family again.

I'm kind of jealous; my brother and mom are in Hawaii right now and have been sending me pictures of the beach and the mountains, but I'll make the best of my time here and see them when they get back Saturday.

Part of me feels like I made the wrong decision by staying in Austin, but at the same time I am still enjoying myself, just missing the holidays with family.

Maybe it's just the people that I am friends with, or maybe I just really like Korean food...but I had Korean BBQ for dinner on Tuesday with a friend and his friend who I hadn't met before but seems pretty cool. I'm not really close with the friend I went with but it was still pretty fun and the food was really good.

Yesterday I did some serious cleaning; I think I threw away more than four garbage bags full of stuff I don't need (papers, old makeup, misc. items, trash, etc.) and I bagged up three huge bags of clothing I no longer wear that I plan on donating or selling. I've been reading a book called 'The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up' which talks about ridding your life of items that don't bring you joy. I'll probably elaborate on my thoughts about this book after I finish reading and cleaning.

In the afternoon, Kang and I went to IHOP for lunch/dinner, and ordered chicken and waffles. He wore the hat I bought him & we had a nice time. It wasn't crowded and we didn't have anything else to do so we just stayed and talked there awhile.

In the evening, I felt sick again, and didn't fall asleep until around 4:30 a.m., which might also be due to the fact that I downloaded two games on my phone to play against my friends and we were really getting into it. Words with Friends gets pretty intense, and Trivia Crack is just addictive.

I feel better now and will probably just spend the day at home chilling.

I still have a bit more cleaning to do; I want to reorganize the kitchen and pantry as well as my bookshelf, but it shouldn't take me too long. Later some friends and I are going out to eat to celebrate the day; Asian restaurants don't really close on Christmas so we're in luck. We were planning to make our own hot pot, but unfortunately we didn't make it to the grocery store in time to buy ingredients, so we will most likely do that at another date.
