Trail of Lights

Thursday, December 11th

On Tuesday, I went to Austin's Trail of Lights in Zilker Park, one of the city's main winter attractions. I was really excited because 1. I have been incredibly bored studying for exams and could use a nice time out and 2. I really wanted to see the Trail of Lights sometime this year, since I didn't get a chance to last year.

My ABSA family and I took a bus to Zilker, where we walked awhile and waited in line for a bit and then entered the Trail of Lights. It was a bit different than I expected, and not nearly as extravagant as I would have imagined, but it was definitely beautiful.

Trail of Lights is something that I could imagine being very romantic with a significant other, and probably a lot more enjoyable as a child; there were a lot of decorations and activities geared towards families and children. They did have professional photos by Google with the giant Christmas tree, and good food trucks lined up (I bought myself a snowman shaped donut and hot cocoa) and they had a lot of decorations from different sponsors and artists.

Only females from my family went, but we ran into two other ABSA families while there which was pretty fun. I am certainly glad that I went; I was considering skipping it because I needed to study but it was a good time. A friend of mine, Anna, and I took a lot of pictures together and she's really sweet so I had a nice time with her.
