Though it definitely does not feel like the holidays quite yet for me, the past couple days have been cheerful & rejuvenating for me.
On Saturday morning I drove my mother and brother to the airport, then spent the day at home in bed watching tv dramas, because I managed to get myself sick once again. I had previously planned to head back to Austin Saturday night, but ended up falling asleep and not waking up until early the next morning. I was a bit upset because I made plans to see some old friends Saturday night, but was too sick to do so.
Sunday morning I cleaned up and went to Austin, and I was feeling a bit better but not well enough to eat. Unfortunately, none of my girl friends are in Austin at the time, but I do have a lot of friends who are here, so a bunch of us decided to make samgyupsal (Korean bacon) and play video games Sunday night. It was nice to get out of the house and hang out with friends, and it was okay that I couldn't eat anything; I just ended up making the samgyupsal. Cooking for ten guys made me feel really domesticated but I didn't mind too much because I do enjoy cooking.

Monday, two of my friends and I decided to go shopping for Christmas gifts at the mall. Thankfully it wasn't too crowded and we managed to get what we needed. In the afternoon, we went to see my friend at his workplace, a sushi place near campus, to give him his Christmas gift and eat lunch. I ordered a vegetarian roll because I wasn't sure how my body would handle food at the time, and I was a bit surprised that I felt fine after eating. Later that evening, after he was done with work, we went to his place and made tonkatsu. He taught me how to make it and it was pretty simple and tasted really good. It was a lot of fun for me, and I could finally eat without a problem. At this point I was starving so I ate quite a bit!

I opened a couple Christmas gifts; my friend gave me a Starbucks giftcard (literally the perfect gift) and another friend gave me Urban Decay's Naked 2 Basics eye palette, something I have wanted for quite awhile.
This morning I went back to the mall to do a little bit of shopping on my own, then took three of my friends to lunch at a Korean place inside of an Asian market. We wanted to go to a place called Rice Ball cafe but it was closed, and I really wanted to try Teapioca Lounge's boba and smoothies and this place was nearby. The Korean food was good, and my taro tea with tapioca balls (I get this at every boba place I go to) was actually very good as well but my friends didn't like their drinks as much. Now I just got back from HEB and I am sitting at home, kind of tired, and I don't really want to clean my apartment but I should. Might just take a nap.

All in all it's kind of nice to be here without worrying about school, and since I have a car with me I can do some exploring in Austin. I might go to a new coffee place tomorrow to try, if there are any open. Looking more forward to seeing my family in a couple days though.
