There is nothing more satisfying than a Starbucks cappuccino and banana kind of breakfast. Even if it is paired with cough drops, Airborne, and constant sneezing. Yep. Once again, I have managed to get myself sick. Although, this time it is not my stomach but a cold. I am pretty sure it is due to a pretty messed up eating schedule / working out on an empty stomach / interesting sleeping habits, so that's my mistake.
But alas, I am sick. Again.
When. Will. It. End.
On another note, the past couple days have been interesting for me; despite being somewhat stressed by my own thoughts and worries, I have been able to clear my mind a little thanks to the company of some friends. Monday wasn't such a great day, but Tuesday, I went to work, then to the gym with my friend. I hadn't eaten all day and was extremely exhausted and not feeling well so after a nap I went to my friend's place to watch TV and eat ice cream which made me feel a lot better and just get my mind off of things. I was really thankful for that. Afterwards, I went home and showered and went to another friend's place where we all played a card game called Usef. The loser had to prank call a friend and thankfully I did not lose.
Yesterday, I woke up quite late, and my friends and I spent the day together, first going to Gus's for lunch, where they had us sample their incredible hush puppies and fried catfish that will soon be on the menu, then to Lick ice cream, which has very interesting flavors (unfortunately I did not take pictures), and then back to my friend's place to play card games again. This time I did lose, but I could handle the punishment. I was feeling kind of sick at this point, and a migraine was coming on but thanks to my friend giving me some medicine I was fine. Then we went out for hot pot, which took a really long time due to the style of eating but it was still fun. The dinner was a bit awkward but I think it all worked out in the end. Afterwards, we went back to play more card games, and I was doing really well. I think I won three rounds of Usef in a row which was pretty cool. We're all kind of addicted to that game now. Afterwards, my friend gifted me some green tea for my cold and a candle which brightened my mood a lot.
Gus's Fried Chicken
Today, I woke up feeling awful, and it's really cold outside, but my friend drove me to work so I didn't have to walk. Now I'm at work, and it's a slow day so I have some free time. Later, I will probably work out and then try to sleep early to get better.
Thoughts of the day:
- I am thinking of buying a camera, and originally thought I would save my paycheck for this one, but since I am not planning to do much professional work, I might start out with this camera, which is the one that Estee uses to vlog with, and I have recently been obsessed with her videos so I'm inspired to save for it instead.
- Jenn Im, another of my favorite Youtube bloggers, always talks about book recommendations, so I thought I would download (I mean, buy) some books to check out. Another friend of mine recommended Malcom Gladwell's "Outliers", which I will also start to read. My goal is to finish one more book by the time the break ends, and hopefully read one book a month. Estee in her latest video mentioned she is going to do kind of a virtual book club with her subscribers, so I might also read the book that she recommended, so that I can follow along with her reading goals too. It might keep me inspired.
- I obviously really, really love Youtubers.
