I nearly fell asleep in my Intro to Programming course today due to a 50 minute monologue about the history of computing. I mean, yeah, it's interesting stuff and he's a really lively professor but I just wasn't feelin' it.
The rest of the day was busy; I worked on some homework at the Business school for a little bit until Michelle and I went to brunch, a pizza parlor / lunch spot / bakery called St. Philip which we described as being the kind of place you go to for a mother/daughter date. It was filled with other women, literally a very feminine, cute lunch place with a homey yet chic, modern interior with comfortable outdoor seating as well. And the food was spectacular; some of the best meatballs I've ever eaten. Definitely want to try their pizza the next time I visit.
Afterwards, we went to the mall for some shopping; I was out of some makeup I needed and I also have been wearing the same jeans for around three years so it was definitely time to pick out some new ones. I also bought a pair of workout pants because I go through mine pretty quickly. I wanted a new cardigan but unfortunately I only found one that I liked and I didn't love it enough to spend as much as it costs so I had to say no to the cardigan.
At the mall we had an interesting experience with a salesman trying to sell us skin lotion / exfoliator. He was borderline creepy and inappropriate which made us feel a little awkward and less inclined to buy his product (not that we would anyway). He even went as far as to ask us about our personal lives (boyfriends and whatnot) and suggest we give our boyfriends massages with his product. I wish we could have avoided him but he was incredibly persistent.
For dinner we had Brown Bag plans with our ABSA Big Sibs (in ABSA we are in families and each family has around 3 'big sibs' to take care of them) so we went for Chinese food and shared some dishes family style. It was pretty fun but I think I ate a bit too much and already had a headache since the morning so I feel extremely exhausted now.
I think I'm going to try to sleep early (I say early but it's already 11 and I don't think I'll be sleeping any time soon) and get up to work out tomorrow, which will hopefully help the headache and lack of energy.
