To Katy & Back | Chicken & Waffles

Wednesday, March 18th

I'm eating breakfast right now; it feels really strange to be eating breakfast because for the past couple days I have been sort of skipping it & working out in the morning before lunch. I bought a 'madagascar vanilla, almonds and pecans' oatmeal cup at the Fresh Foods near my apartment & it's pretty satisfying, but I'm not sure my stomach is used to food in the morning (I say morning but it's 11 AM so does that even count?) because I kind of feel queasy now but oh well.

On Saturday, I made breakfast then went to the park with my family, and in the evening I made them chicken teriyaki which was quite fun. It was nice to take a walk in the park while the weather was nice but it didn't last long; Sunday was foggy & dreary again.

Sunday morning I went to the gym for a run, then out to lunch with the family at Denny's. Afterwards, I took my younger sister to the mall for a bit and then headed home. We ate dinner & watched Big Hero 6. I really like the movie and I think they enjoyed it too.

Monday morning they had school so I stayed in and worked out, then chilled at home - I made coffee and sat outside on the porch for a bit on my laptop which was relaxing. After picking them up from school I went to dinner with my dad - he made fried chicken and blueberry-raspberry pie which was extremely tasty. I really missed my cats so it was really nice for me to see them.

Tuesday morning I woke at around 5:45 to catch a bus back to Austin - I slept most of the way and the ride was really quick due to lack of traffic. My boyfriend picked me up and I went home, unpacked, and then went to the gym for a very productive work out. I ran 5K in around 28:30 pacing myself with the treadmill. I think if I can time myself without knowing my pace, I would actually finish it faster. Still a long ways to go for the 10K in April but I'm working at it.

Afterwards, I cleaned up my apartment and took a small nap, then went to dinner and finally satisfied my craving for chicken and waffles.

In the evening I went for a walk, kind of to explore nearby trails for running, and then went to Red Mango with a couple friends for froyo. When I got home I was exhausted so I basically just passed out while watching videos on YouTube.

Today I have work at noon, and then I am planning to go for a run and have dinner. Tomorrow, though, should be exciting: we are going to Dallas for a day. I'm excited because I love road trips and I really think it will be fun.

I feel a bit drowsy today; I only had one meal yesterday which may be the reason...even coffee isn't doing its job of waking me up right now. I wanted to work out this morning but I was pretty hungry and sleepy so I thought it would be better not to push myself too hard. I like being on Spring Break- I feel like I just have a lot more freedom even though I'm still working and working out.

We are very alike.

Baby & parents

Monday afternoon vibes.
