Wednesday I got out of work early and went to the gym, and then had dinner plans with some friends; we made samgyupsal and some side dishes. Tried to sleep early because we were planning on waking early to head to Dallas.
We woke up a little later than planned which was actually just fine. We stopped by Vintage Heart for some coffee, then in Round Rock for some donuts and made it to Dallas in good time. We went straight to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, which I found absolutely beautiful. I really enjoyed it but after about an hour there we started to feel kind of hungry so we went to find somewhere to eat. It was kind of difficult to decide where to eat because we don't know the area but we ended up eating Mediterranean food which was extremely filling and pretty healthy and good so I enjoyed it.
After, we were tired so we took a nap, then went to the Galleria. We didn't buy much; I bought an eyebrow pencil at Sephora and then we went to a Korean Barbeque place for dinner. It was the best galbi I have ever eaten so we definitely stuffed ourselves and enjoyed it a lot.
Overall, Dallas was a nice getaway and I enjoyed the botanical garden a lot. The drive back wasn't too bad and we ate lunch at Galaxy Cafe today - I ordered a turkey sandwich and sweet potato fries. I love Galaxy Cafe a little too much...
For the rest of the day I went to work out- I ran 4.2 miles (around 40 minutes) and tired myself enough to not really do any weight workouts afterwards. Then I headed home to shower and clean up a bit, ate, and have just been kind of chilling at home since. My friends all kind of seem busy so I've been cooped up. I went for another walk this evening and just took a bath and drank some tea so I thought I'd upload some photos and I'll probably sleep soon because I'm feeling pretty tired.
I'm hoping to go for a run tomorrow morning; I explored nearby and there's a nice trail around my apartment that I didn't know about so maybe I'll try it out if it's not too wet tomorrow rather than using the treadmill at the gym.
Today I'm missing my family but I think I just need to try to put some perspective on my life and really get myself grounded.
I'm considering taking up pilates or yoga, but maybe after the 10K, if I can train in time. It's already March 20th which means I have three weeks to train for a 10K... So far I've only run more than a 5K once, which was today... and I'm not even used to the hills in Austin yet either. I think I may need to step it up a bit. I don't want to resort to just running the 5K...
Might go play board games with some friends in a bit..
Not sure what my plans are for tomorrow but I definitely want to do something with some friends I haven't seen all week.
