Salty Sow | Dallas

Saturday, January 17th

It has actually been a long couple of days, first because I hadn't been eating as much as I should  early on in the week and I had also been hitting the gym religiously, and second because I have been doing a bit of traveling/driving.

Tuesday night, I went to a restaurant called Salty Sow in Austin, and the food was some of the best I have eaten in a really long time. We ordered the Bacon & Gruyere Roasted Bone Marrow for an appetizer, slow cooked beef shoulder, candied pork belly and for dessert we had Bananas Foster Beignets with nutmeg ice cream. Everything was delicious.

Wednesday I went to work and then did a bit of cleaning and packing to go to Katy Thursday morning. Once in Katy, I picked up a rental car and drove to Waco for the evening, then early Friday morning drove in to Dallas for a company visit at Pariveda Solutions, a technology consulting firm I am interested in.

It was really fun to see what a consultant at Pariveda does, and they took us to their client's site so we could see what the work environment for a consultant is like. They bought us lunch at a very fancy pizza place and then took us to play dodgeball as a social. I met a lot of people there and had a pretty fun time.

The drive back to Katy was terrible, mainly because it was dark and I was very sleepy, having been up since 5:30 in the morning, but I made it in by 9 pm and was able to chill with my family for the evening.

This morning I am trying to catch up on some emails and school stuff, and I head back to Austin tonight. Not at all looking forward to school starting but what can do you do.
