Waco | 100 Days

Sunday, May 10th

It sure has been awhile since I blogged.

I'll offer two excuses. One: School. The past two weeks was two group projects, over ten assignments due, and four tests. On top of that was work and orgs...so it's safe to say I was pretty busy. Second: I'm lazy.

Last week was really hard for me physically; when I did sleep, I would wake up every couple hours with anxiety, and I wasn't eating enough, and what I did eat was honestly just junk. I drank a lot of tea and soda and coffee and didn't eat enough real food, and only showered twice within the week. On top of that, lack of workouts put me in a crappy mood and made my body feel even more lethargic.

My MIS class, which is known to be the most difficult class I will take in my college career, had a group project due Friday, which was to design a working website that would operate similar to iTunes; we had to build a database of songs, artists, customers, employees, etc and provide an interface that would allow people to login, purchase music, view their library, view and search for songs, edit their profile, etc.

It was extremely difficult and time consuming, and it didn't help that one of our team members was unwilling to cooperate. I spent quite a bit of time working on this project and it caused me to spend less time studying for some other tests, so I think my grades are going to turn out lower than I would have liked this semester.

After we turned it in on Friday, we sat through two to three hours of grading, which was stressful and we were all tired and ready to go home and be done, given that it was the last class day.

Afterwards, I wanted to do something fun so I went to the mall to look for a dress for a banquet tonight with some friends. I didn't find one, but I did purchase some leggings for like $4 and a new shirt which I cannot wait to wear. I've never owned a pair of leggings so I was excited to buy them. Afterwards we went to P.Terry's and I indulged in a burger and fries.

Lately I have been obsessed with french fries; I don't know what it is but I just crave them all the time. I've also been craving iced tea a lot lately, which is unusual for me, and ice cream, which is completely normal.

Friday night I finally slept, and quite a good deal of sleeping too. Yesterday, I went to get my haircut, an experience I am not pleased with at all; the service was terrible this time around and I don't really like the style of my new hair; it's too short for not being the style that I want too.
Afterwards, I went to dinner at a buffet with my ABSA family which was actually the first fun thing I've done in quite a while so it was really nice to get together one last time this semester.

This morning, I finally made it back to the gym for a short workout, then made myself a healthy lunch and some coffee; it felt amazing to cook and eat something hearty and healthy and my body feels a lot better now.

Tonight, I have a banquet for ABSA; I'm just going to rewear an old dress because I didn't find one, but hopefully that's okay. My boyfriend gets back from Houston tonight as well, so I can finally spend some time with him in the coming days.

Positive things:

  1. Only one final on Thursday and I am done.
  2. Mother's Day today! Thankful for my mom.
  3. I managed to get through the semester without getting ill.

Below are some photos from the past few weeks, since I haven't been able to blog.

I don't remember when this was, but me and the boyfriend made kimbap for the first time. It was pretty fun and I definitely want to make it again sometime soon. Tasted great as well.

My boyfriend's friend was in town for a day, so he took off work and we went to get Korea House. Afterwards, we went to Little Lucy's mini donuts for dessert, which were really great. I enjoyed my time with them a lot; I like my boyfriend's friends because they're easy to get along with and I don't feel left out at all, even though they are quite a bit older than I am.

The ice cream cravings have been reallll lately... We went to Amy's with our friend Amy, and got this brownie, chocolate fudge, vanilla icecream combo. Too good.

I was able to visit my sister in Waco last Saturday. It was really nice to see her and just what I needed. In the morning, we went to a coffee food truck on the way, then arrived in Waco, and I went to the zoo with my sister for a work social of hers, then we went shopping; she bought a beautiful dress for her brother in law's wedding, and we went out for ice cream afterwards. Her husband also gave me a ride on his motorcycle; it was thrilling and scary and I enjoyed it alot but my hair was crazy afterwards.

My boyfriend meanwhile was competing in a gaming tournament, which he ended up winning. After, he picked me up and we went to Killeen where his family lives and played video games with them for awhile, then headed back to Austin.

I was supposed to go to church in the morning but we arrived at like, 2, so I was too tired.

So we've been together for 100 days now. To celebrate, we went to see Avengers the 30th, and he bought me a drink which was pretty decent, and in the morning, we went to lunch at a sandwich place that he found on Yelp, which I thought was okay but he loved it a lot (although their coffee was actually on point). Then we went to Peter Pan mini golf, and I won :)

In the evening, we made samgyupsal for dinner and watched some TV together. It was a nice day.

The Saturday after, we went to his friend's coworker's house to watch the Pacquiao / Mayweather fight. I'm not too into boxing but it was pretty fun. I realized I really don't have high tolerance for beer, and I don't like it at all, which is a good thing I guess. I felt really sick on Sunday, and ended up resting for most of the day. After that began hell week, most of which I spent at the Business school in the computer lab coding.

And now I'm here. I'm about to get ready for my banquet tonight, which I'm looking forward to but also not as excited as I feel I should be, probably because Ray can't be there with me and I was kind of looking forward to taking him and introducing him to some of my friends. Oh well.
