Kittens | Daredevil

Friday, May 22nd

This afternoon, I had an interview for a new job close to campus at a cream puff bakery called Cream Whiskers. Tomorrow I will go in for training, so I am looking forward to working there, mainly because it means I get to learn latte art and make espresso drinks. I mean, the bulk of the work is going to be serving cream puffs which I'll also enjoy but I'm just looking forward to the coffee.

Later, me and the boyfriend went to Austin Pet's Alive to meet some cats because he is thinking of adopting a kitten. There were two kittens that are two months old that we liked, one of which we were about to take home we liked him so much. He was sick with a slight cold, and we also thought we should think a bit more about the decision before adopting.

The lady at APA told us that "Single Kitten Syndrome" is something that we should take into consideration, that raising a kitten alone will be difficult because cats learn acceptable behavior better by being around other cats. She suggested adopting two kittens if there are no other cats at home, which my boyfriend doesn't want to do, since he has never had a pet cat before and one will be difficult enough, and I agree.

The thing is, he's also slightly allergic; one of the cats scratched him and he broke out with a rash. So...we'll see. We might head back there tomorrow or just think about it some more.

We've been watching a series on Netflix called Daredevil; it's a Marvel superhero show and we both really liked it, so today we binge watched the final three episodes of the first season (the only which is out thus far). I think the show is very well-scripted and intriguing, and definitely kept me engaged throughout the season.

It's kind of a dark series, and the hero isn't some modest hero who always does the right thing and is an inspirational figure to the public, but rather very twisted and hurt himself, and the characters are not 'good' or 'bad' but rather they all have their own stories and motives so it makes everything very complicated but interesting. There are a lot of religious references, and some quotable lines, so I really like it. The series finale wasn't as epic as I had hoped but it ended how I expected.

Positive things:

  1. I'm looking forward to my training tomorrow and thankful for the opportunity to work
  2. Might get a kitten!!
  3. Today marks 4 months together~
